Always refer back to this FAQ if you have any questions. It is important to read and know what to expect.

What sets NaysPinClub apart?

• GRADE A PINS: NaysPinClub ONLY provides A grade pins! You only get the best! No need to worry about lost profit over B grades.
• ACRYLIC TRADING BADGES: Members of NaysPinClub receive a 4″, hard acrylic,  custom made trading badge of their pin design to make trading at conventions more fun and easier to spot other members! (Aswell as a NaysPinClub lanyard with a safety snap to display it and your pins for trade on! AND a Nayspinclub pvc keychain to attach to your lanyard)
• GOODIE BAGS: All members receive a decked out package, prepared with a lot of love. Full-size Canadian chocolate bars, re-usable fabric storage baggies, lots of special goodies to make it more of an immersive experience! My gift to you… From Canada!
• QUALITY CONTROL: Pins are HAND sorted and inspected by me. I don’t just send you what the manufacturer sends and you get what you get, you only get the best!  I replace any B grades, with A grades from my own stock!
• FAST PRODUCTION: A fast turnaround! From the time I start the art, until the pins are completed is generally just a month! (This does not account for ordering ahead and reserving~ The time frame starts the month art starts. I strive for a faster turnaround than other makers in the market.

Customer and Commercial Rights

• You do not have commercial rights to the artwork. To purchase rights, please contact me to discuss a commercial fee.
• The artwork is drawn on a smaller canvas with only the intention to be made into a pin. High-res files are not made, but you are welcome to repost the versions delivered to you on Twitter.
• I reserve all rights to my art and it can be used as I see fit. This may be used for promotion, free pins, giveaways, etc. No artwork is excluded.
• You have full rights to sell your pins, however, Pre-orders on your personal pins can not start until your manufacturing has been paid.

Payment

• Payment must be made immediately (No e-cheques/ pending payments.) If payment can not be made within 48h, you must contact me.
• Payment for both my art and manufacturing are non-refundable. You are making a commitment to a line of officially released pins that are numbered. If you can not pay the full required amount, Please do not initially commission. I will not provide just the art and Manufacturing of the pins is an expected commitment you are expected to fulfill and complete.
• The cost for art and shipping are due the same day as acceptance or at the time of reservation. 
• If you fail to make payment within one week of receiving the final request for manufacturing payment, your rights to the artwork and pin will be forfeited. By commissioning me, you agree to all of the above.
• My factory’s email will be given to you at the time of the invoice to send payment directly to the manufacturer.

Manufacturing

• PICKING YOUR PANTONES: You are highly encouraged to pick your own pantones  to avoid any potential delays/ remakes.  Use this source to pick colors and provide pantone #s only. If you select your own pantones, please provide them as early as possible and in image form, or putting the numbers on your reference.    https://www.printkick.com/tools/image-colour-match
• CONCEPT: It is recommended to have a concept provided. If you do not provide a concept, you will not be allowed to make major changes.
• SIMPLIFICATION: The manufacturer may be required to simplify complex designs or make small changes if there is a “problem area”; e.g. a small fill (like making a spot or stripe larger to be able to fill to ensure a quality product. Thin lines and spots can be common problem areas.
• LINEART: All colors must be “lined” to seal the enamel (Unless screen-printed). It is common to experience some thick plating (Lineart) as the plating process is manually done by hand. Lineart in the physical pin will be ‘heavier’ than the inital artwork I produce as a requirement to be made into a pin.
• WHITE PINS:Pins with designs that have 1/4 or higher of white will automatically have 10 extra pins included in your order to account for flaws. You Typically do not receive these extra pins as high amounts of white always have pins to be replaced which exceeds what I provide.
• GREYS: Grey is a problematic color for setting too dark or too light. If your character has many shades of grey, please be aware.
• PASTELS: Many light colors simply do not exist as pantones. Please do your research and make sure you will be happy with whats available.
• GLITTER: Glitter is hand mixed, and technically a soft enamel (dips). Because it is hand mixed, it can not go in very small spots, and or may not be noticeable. Glitter costs extra.
• GLOW: All Glow has a yellow appearance when in the dark. Colors with glow pigments added in can slightly change color ( yellow/ greenish) which is not avoidable. Glow can not go in very small spaces. Glow costs extra.
• PLATING:  Pins come standard with black nickel plating. Alternative plating can be ordered as an ADDITIONAL set, but you must purchase a minimum of 50 pins. Only if I really agree a plating will work with a character, I will offer it as the main plating option.
• MANU ERROR:  In the very rare, but the possible scenario of a manufacturer error (Mis-plating, missing a marking, color coming out dark etc) The factory will usually offer a replacement or discount on a future design.
  SCREENPRINTING:  Screenprinting is not flawlessly accurate as it is manually done. It can slightly go over lines or be skewed in placement by 0.01%. If a screen-printed pin ever needs a re-print, the Screenprint set-up fee must be paid again. It is suggested to order extra ahead for screen printed pins
• COLOR DIFFERENCE: The physical pin can be subject to slight color change in comparison to the digital file provided as the manufacturer utilizes Pantone colors in their production process. Pantones are hand mixed and created to the best of their ability, but they can bake/ settle slightly differently.
• COLOR AMOUNT: (see pricing graphic on price page) Always add ‘1’ as I add a dark shade to my eyes. If you have a color that will work for the dark shade already within the character, disregard this and that color can be used instead.
• LARGE ORDERS: (over 100pc) will not be quality controlled with ‘A grade’ guarantee and you will have the possibility to receive A- and B grade.
• SAMPLES: I pay out of pocket to have color samples made, so if a pantone is ‘off’ I will contact you about it before mass production. At this stage of production, the number of pins or amount of colors cannot be changed, only an existing color may be altered to be more accurate.
• REORDERS: You can re-order your pin at any time and It will go in with my next order, however, the individual cost may be higher on a re-order, as during your initial order- I order extra for patreon which helps bring your cost down. Contact me any time to Re-order.

• NEW– CMYK UV PRINT PINS: An alternative to Enamel pins for complicated characters with too many details/ colors/ etc to be made into an enamel pin. This process is still VERY new. It is cheaper, however, please be prepared that the process is not completely reliable. As it is digitally printed, there may be noticeable pixelation on the print. Colors will be converted into CMYK format for these pins, so ensure your character looks okay with the different color format.
• HIGH FLAW RATE  As these pins are sealed with epoxy, they have a higher flaw rate compared to enamel pins. I can not offer my A grade guarantee with these pins. A FULL CMYK print pin is only suggested if enamel is NOT possible.

Distribution

• I maintain stock of all pins made, which will be available to Pin Club members and for sale at conventions.
• All custom pins are Patreon items. Your pin will be distributed to my members. I do not offer private distribution of pins at this time.

Other

• NaysPinClub is 0 tolerance and will discontinue/ not accept work from anyone who has a history of, or stands for (but not limited to) Racism of any sort, Transphobia, Hate-groups or Zooph*lia. We hold the right to decline any customer we see not fit to uphold community standards.
  If you are found associated with any of the above after a pin is created, It will be removed from the stock line (never re-printed) and blacklisted.
• Blacklisting can also be a result of defamation of any sort/ tarnishing the name of NaysPinClub, or an unsavoury experience. Black-listed pins will be cleared out of my stock in any way I see fit.

From intake to Manufacturing:

1. New members are selected. 
2. Upon being selected or reserving a future slot, you will pay upfront for my fee, tax, and shipping. You will be notified of the month/ timeframe of the production of your pins to know when to expect to pay for manufacturing as well as be active to respond to and approve your pin artwork.
3. You will have the initial sketch sent to you for confirmation within the month your production is set for.
4. Once you Approve your sketch, I will continue on to finish the artwork and select the pantones if you did not provide them. Once you approve the artwork and pantone selection, The artwork will be submitted to the manufacturer to generate the manufacturing cost that will be due.
5. From the day I submit the artwork, the factory will need to create the vector . (Typically 2 to 5 days)
6.  Once the vector is provided showing the factory rendition and the pantones, I will send it to you for final confirmation for production.
7. I will provide you with the email of where to send the payment, the total amount (based on the pricing chart) and production will start immediately! Yahoo

Behind the scenes photos and commission discounts are exclusive to Patreon members.
I highly encourage you to join at least the month your pin is in creation, as the memberships are what make your commission possible!

I do not send individual photo updates of your pins. I post in batches on Patreon and your only option of seeing manufacturing photos, is there.
I will only contact you if a problem arises or I have any questions during the production phase.

After manufacturing payment:

1. The Manufacturer delivers rough metal casting.
2. Rough enamel fill is completed.
3. Pins are ‘plated’ which means they have the enamel polished and have the metal made into the color they are supposed to be. 
4. Pins are shipped to me, usually received last week of the month.
5. I quality check the pins personally and only send out grade-A pins.
6. I then, prepare individual goodie bags, trading badges, pack boxes, and prepare for shipping.
7. Custom pins await Patreon mailout day (first week of the following month) and are shipped out at the same time. All mail goes out at the same time since I pay for the pickup service. You will receive a tracking number around this time.
8. All packages are sent, tracked, and insured.  It is on average 3-12 business days for Canadian/ US shipping. (Not including National delays)
   

There are 3 costs to account for when commissioning a pin: My art, Manufacturing, and shipping.
Art and Shipping are upfront to reserve the slot, Manufacturing is due the month your artwork is created and submitted.

Art Costs:

• Itty bitty pins (1″) are $105 USD 
  
• UV Print pins (1.75′) are $145 USD

Shipping:

• Canada & USA  for $60 USD (Regular), (Itty bitty) for $40 USD
• International  for $80 USD (Regular), (Itty Bitty) for $60 USD
• I am not responsible for any additional shipping/third-party costs.  

‘All-Inclusive shipping, what does that consist of?’ 

This includes a small portion of the tracked shipping from the manufacturer to me, and it includes postage (tracked and insured) from me to you, as well as my packing supplies, import fees on the box, etc. There are no cheaper shipping options as I will not send out valuable goods without tracking.
